I acknowledge the Aboriginal people as the traditional owners of the land on which I practice, recognising the value of the continuation of Aboriginal knowledge and cultural practices, which inform our understanding of history, culture and country. I pay my respects to their Elders past and present.

I acknowledge the original owners of the land upon which I’ve lived, the Muwinina and Mumirimina people of nipaluna (Hobart) who did not survive British Colonisation. I honour the tribes of lutruwita who are no longer here today as a result of brutal and violent invasion, as well as the Tasmanian Aboriginal community of today who remain the custodians of the land.

I acknowledge the strength of all of Australia’s First Peoples and I walk alongside them, respectfully bearing witness.

Sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
